Swing Digest is run by one person on one machine. This page describes what the site actually stores, in plain terms.
What is stored when you sign in
Signing in with Google stores three things about you:
- Your email address
- Your display name, as Google provides it
- Your Google account identifier — an opaque number Google uses to say "this is the same person as last time"
Along with the date you first signed in and the date you last signed in. No password is ever stored, because none is ever handled. Google verifies who you are and tells this site the result; your Google credentials never pass through here.
What is stored as you browse
When you open a ticker page, the ticker and the time are recorded. If you are signed in, that record is linked to your account; if you are not, it is stored without any identifier at all. Nothing else about your browsing is recorded — no page-by-page history, no IP addresses in the database, no device fingerprint.
Cookies
One cookie, set only after you sign in. It holds your account's row number and a signature proving the site issued it — nothing else, no email, no token. It expires after 30 days of not visiting. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics: no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no ad networks.
Where it lives, and who can see it
The database sits on the operator's own computer, not a cloud provider. Nobody else has access to it. Your data is never sold, shared, or passed to a third party. The site keeps a weekly backup of its market data, and the tables holding user accounts and searches are deliberately excluded from it — so account data never leaves the machine.
Traffic reaches the site through Cloudflare, which sees request metadata (IP address, browser) the way it does for any site behind it. That is Cloudflare's handling, not this site's, and none of it is stored here.
Deleting your data
Ask and it is deleted — your account row and your search records, in full. There is no automated button for this; the site is small enough that a message is faster. You can also revoke the site's access from your Google account permissions page at any time, which prevents future sign-ins.
Changes
If what is collected ever changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
